I used to be afraid of my own voice for 27 years. Then I sat with over 2,000 elders in their final days.

Then I sat with over 2,000 elders in their final days. They taught me what really matters.
"At the end, no one wishes they'd worked more. They wish they'd loved deeper."

Now I live between two truths, My children's hands reaching for mine and a calling in my heart to build a world where every connection leaves a mark of love and meaning.

This is what I've learned. We think we're living life, but really, life lives through our connect ions.

The 1000 days at the beginning and end of our life: Caring for our elderly.

His first child was born and, as all babies are, was in need of a world of care and connection with those who loved him.

Who loves us the most? Syam's insight into our final 1000 days is a reminder of what matters.

I also see this exact point in reversal as the daughter of my father, living with Alzheimers, who spent his last 5 years in a nursing home. “I would say that – ‘I would have spent more time with my father and I would have kept him a little bit closer.’”
